FAQs

#For trials, please note: Once you have installed Ecoplate, launch your DAW and click "Try" on the left (as opposed to "Activate"). Does not require an iLok device, but requires a free iLok account.

Why is the installer so big?

A couple reasons - first, the plug-in itself is slightly under 400MB. This is because the plug-in contains lots of data from the actual Ecoplate Mark I unit and all data was captured up to 192kHz.

Secondly, the installers contain multiple versions - if you’d only like to select one or a couple, just unselect any unwanted versions in the install process.

  • The mac installer contains 3 copies - AAX, AU and VST3

  • The Windows installer contains 2 copies: AAX and VST3

How can I get Ecoplate or any VST3 to show up in Ableton Live?

By default, many versions of Live require you to manually toggle the preferences to notice VST3 plug-ins in the system. Here are the steps:

  1. Select “Plug-ins” on the left side of the Live pop up Preferences screen.

  2. Turn ON the “Use VST3 Plug-ins in System Folder”. This will scan all of your VST3 plugins. The Ecoplate plugin will now be available to use in Live under Plug-ins/VST3/HEAR360/Ecoplate.

What versions of the plug-in are available?

All versions are built for x64 architecture, AU and VST3 are available natively for Mac M1 ARM archs as well:

  • macOS

    • AAX, AU, VST3

  • Windows

    • AAX, VST3

We will provide native M1 AAX plug-ins soon after Avid finalizes their M1 SDK for release.

Do you have an original VST version (VST2) as opposed to VST3?

Unfortunately no and we cannot make one, as Steinberg has officially removed the VST SDK from circulation and we are not allowed to release a VST (some older companies that were grandfathered in are allowed to distribute them). Please note Reason does not support VST3.

Are legacy 32-bit versions available? What about legacy OS X versions?

We are currently looking into supporting legacy 32-bit for Windows and macOS (we understand some users love their 32-bit macOS setup and we hear you) but have not yet made a decision, partially due to development constraints as a result of Apple and plug-in SDK providers and anti-piracy companies discontinuing 32-bit support.

We currently support versions down to macOS 10.9
